Byredo Rose Noir Perfume by Byredo, Launched in 2008, Byredo Rose Noir is a contemporary floral woody musk that renders rose in intensely sensuous and animalic tones. The opening notes are potent fusion of tart-sweet grapefruit, red berries and shimmering freesia spiced with green cardamom. As the fragrance begins to settle, the deep, sweet tones of Damask rose emerge, intensified by flanking white florals of lily-of-the-valley and jasmine. Powdery violet and soft wood facets of oak mosscombine with a potent accord of labdanum and musk to produce a deliciously dark yet luminous finish that is truly "noir".
Ben Gorham founded Byredo in Stockholm, Sweden in 2006. During a visit to his mother's hometown near Mumbai, India, Gorham found himself inspired by the stirring aromas of the numerous native spices and incense. In addition to personal fragrances, Byredo also offers hand and body care products, hair perfumes, extracts and exquisitely scented candles and room sprays. Brand fragrances were designed in collaboration with Jerome Epinette and Olivia Giacobetti.
